Make cloud services easier to use and support

Cloud services can help your team work from more places, share files more easily and reduce the need for everything to sit on one office server.

Why use Chrome Cloud Services?

They can also become messy when they are added without a clear plan. Files move into the wrong places, licences are bought but not used, backups are assumed but not checked, and users can keep old access for longer than they should. A system may also be moved before anyone has checked what it depends on.

Chrome helps UK businesses plan, set up and support cloud services around the way their teams work, as part of managed cloud services built around your business rather than a generic package.

We can help with Microsoft 365, 365 Backup, cloud strategy, cloud migration, virtual desktop and endpoint backup.

The aim is simple: make your cloud setup easier to use, easier to manage and better connected to the rest of your business technology.

Help people work from different locations

Give your team access to the files, apps and tools they need, whether they are in the office, at home or on the move.

Keep data easier to protect

Cloud backup for business can help your business recover agreed data when files are deleted, changed or lost.

Plan change properly

A cloud strategy helps you decide what should move, what should stay and what needs checking first.

Connect cloud with wider support

Cloud services work best when they fit with managed IT, cyber security, connectivity, devices and user support.

What are cloud services?

Cloud services are tools, systems or storage that are accessed over the internet rather than being run only from equipment in your office.

That might include Microsoft 365, hosted applications, cloud backup, virtual desktops, cloud storage, shared files or cloud-based business systems.

For some businesses, cloud services are already part of everyday work. For others, they are still mixed with older servers, local files, remote access tools and software that was never designed for the way the team now works.

Chrome can help you understand the current picture. We’ll look at what your team uses, where your data lives, how people access it and what happens when something needs support.

The useful question is not whether everything should be in the cloud. It is which cloud services for business will make work easier, safer to manage and easier to support.

Start with how your team works

Cloud services should support the working day, not make people work around the technology.

Before recommending anything, Chrome will look at how your people use files, email, apps, devices and business systems.

That means asking practical questions: who needs access, where they work, which systems matter most, which files are shared, what happens when someone leaves, which data needs backing up, and which suppliers are involved.

These questions matter because cloud services can spread quickly. One team uses SharePoint, another saves files locally, and another uses a separate application. Someone sets up a shared mailbox. A new app starts sending customer notifications. Before long, the cloud setup may be useful, but not very tidy.

Chrome can help bring more order to it. We’ll help you understand what is already in place, what should be improved and what can wait.

Services covering the cloud tools most UK businesses use every day.

Each page explains what it covers and where Chrome can help.

Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365 can support email, Teams, shared files, calendars, collaboration and everyday work.

Chrome can help with licences, setup, user accounts, permissions, security settings and ongoing support.

365 Backup

Microsoft 365 contains important business data, including email, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams content.

Chrome can help you review Microsoft 365 backup options and agree how data should be protected and restored when something goes wrong.

Cloud Strategy

A cloud strategy helps you decide what should move, what should stay and what needs planning before any changes are made.

Chrome can help review your systems, users, costs, security needs and support routes.

Cloud Migration

Cloud migration means moving agreed systems, files, email, applications or data into a cloud service.

Chrome can help plan the move, reduce avoidable disruption and support users before and after the change.

Virtual Desktop

Virtual desktop services, sometimes called desktop as a service, can help users access a managed desktop or selected applications from different devices and locations.

Chrome can help you understand whether this approach fits your team, systems and support needs.

Endpoint Backup

Endpoint backup helps protect agreed data held on laptops and desktops.

Chrome can help review what needs backing up, how users work and how device backup should fit with wider IT support.

Prefer to start with your industry?

Some businesses would rather see how this works in their own sector than pick a service from a list.

Our industry pages cover fifteen sectors, from dental practices and care homes to logistics, retail and construction. Each one starts from the working day rather than the technology.

Cloud services and your wider technology

Cloud services rarely sit on their own. They depend on connectivity, devices, cyber security, Microsoft 365, phone systems, user support and supplier management.

Chrome can help bring these areas together through one team.

For example, a Teams issue may involve Microsoft 365, a laptop, Wi-Fi, a headset, a licence or a user account. A migration may depend on connectivity, file structure, backup, permissions and user training.

We’ll explain what Chrome manages and where another provider remains responsible. That gives your team a clearer place to start when something needs checking.

Microsoft 365 and cloud backup

For many businesses, Microsoft 365 is the main cloud service people use every day.

Email, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, calendars and shared documents often sit at the centre of how work gets done.

Chrome can help make Microsoft 365 easier to manage. That may include choosing the right licences, setting up users, reviewing permissions, improving file structure, supporting Teams and helping people understand where things should live.

This is important because a poorly managed Microsoft 365 setup can create daily frustration. Files become hard to find, old users keep access, Teams grow without structure and shared documents are saved in the wrong place.

Backup also needs to be clear. Your business should know which Microsoft 365 data is protected, how often it is backed up, how long backups are kept and how information can be restored.

Chrome can help you review Microsoft 365 backup options and explain what is included, what needs separate setup and what the restore process should look like. A backup is only useful when someone knows how to recover from it.

Plan before you move

Cloud migration works best when it is planned properly.

Moving email, files, applications or data without checking dependencies can create avoidable problems. Users may lose access to files, applications may not work as expected, permissions may be copied across without being reviewed and backups may not be ready.

Chrome can help plan the move before work begins. We’ll look at what is being moved, who uses it, what it connects to and what needs to happen before, during and after the migration.

Some teams may also need access to the same desktop, apps or business systems from different locations. A virtual desktop may help where users need a more controlled working environment, access to specific applications or support across several devices. It can be useful for remote teams, contractors, temporary staff, multi-site businesses or teams using software that needs a managed setup.

It is not the right answer for every business. Chrome can help you understand whether virtual desktop is worth considering. Where another approach is simpler, we’ll say so.

Protect data on laptops and desktops

Not all business data starts in Microsoft 365 or a cloud application.

Some data may still sit on laptops and desktops, especially where people work from different locations or use local files as part of their role.

Endpoint backup can help protect agreed data on those devices. This may support users who work from home, travel between sites or use laptops as their main working device.

Chrome can help you review what needs backing up, which users and devices should be included and how endpoint backup should fit with wider IT support.

This matters because a lost, damaged or replaced laptop can create more disruption than expected when files have only been stored locally. The aim is to make recovery clearer before anyone needs it.

Cloud services and cyber security

Cloud services need sensible security around them.

That does not mean making everything difficult to use. It means checking accounts, permissions, devices, backups and user access before problems appear.

Chrome can help connect cloud services with cyber security and managed IT. That may include multi-factor authentication, password management, email security, device management, backup, awareness training and user access reviews.

For example, a cloud migration may be a good time to remove old users, review shared files and check admin accounts. A Microsoft 365 review may show up permissions that need tidying, while endpoint backup can support people who work from laptops in different locations.

Cloud services are easier to manage when access, backup and support are considered together.
